Ranking countries by blasphemy laws worldwide

Delighted to share my new paper, co-written for the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, a bipartisan U.S. federal agency, together with Cardozo Law School, New York. This research compares over 70 blasphemy laws worldwide.

We set up range of human rights indicators to score the laws, and all reference to states were removed to avoid cultural or ideological bias.

The states which have the MOST dangerous laws are:

2.Pakistan

3.Yemen

4.Somalia

5.Qatar

The states which have the LEAST dangerous laws are:

1.Ireland

2.Spain

3.The Philippines

4.Guyana

5.St.Lucia
